Finding Treasure in England

I greet you in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Tuesday was a monumental day in American history as Senator Barack Obama was elected to serve as the 44th President of the United States. I must admit that it feels a little strange knowing that my President is younger than I am, but I suppose that was bound to happen eventually. Regardless of your political affiliation, let us keep this man and his administration in our prayers, as is our Christian duty.

I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
(1 Timothy 2:1-2)

I recently returned from England where I taught my latest seminar, "For Where Your Treasure is, There Will Your Heart Be Also." It was wonderful to spend time examining the Word of God concerning prosperity and finances - especially at this time of such uncertainty in the world markets. I want to express my appreciation to those who arranged this seminar, Rev. Jerome Lucas, and especially Dave and Elaine Waterhouse. It was a special time of fellowship with friends young and old from England, Ireland, Holland, Switzerland and Greece.

The underlying theme of the conference came from Philippians 4:17: "Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account." Though some people came to this seminar curious and perhaps even suspicious of my agenda, I am happy to say that their worries were quickly relieved.

For neither at any time used we flattering words, as ye know, nor a cloke of covetousness; God is witness:

I am pleased to announce a very special event here in Baton Rouge. On Sunday, November 23, our brother and co-worker, David Mantock of Schüpfen, Switzerland, will be ordained by the presbytery of Workers Together With Him. David is the pastor of the International Church of Berne, and a very good friend to us all. Most importantly he is a committed servant to the Lord Jesus and to the household of faith. Please stand with us in prayer as David makes this profound profession of faith in accordance with his calling and appointment by God.

In the coming months, we will be reconstructing our website to make it more accessible by the various search engines that navigate the Internet. One of the founding members of Workers Together With Him, Rev. Todd Pekel of Thessaloniki, Greece, has provided me with some very practical instruction on how to get better use out of our webpage. Beatrice Mantock has been redesigning the overall look as well. Of course I remain most grateful to my brother Rudi Illavský of Vienna, Austria; for without his services we would not have had a website at all. These changes will take some time to implement, but I will keep you informed as we progress.

We are now set up to accept donations via the Internet at www.PayPal.com. Once you are a registered user with PayPal, you can easily make a donation to our ministry via our email address:workerstogether@cox.net. (Please note that this address is different from the one we use for correspondance). The use of PayPal should resolve a lot of the problems we had with international bank transfers and will greatly reduce user fees on both ends.

Again, thank you for your prayers and support. As Proverbs 27:1 says, "Thou knowest not what a day may bring forth." We do not know how much time is left to serve the Lord, or under what circumstances we will be asked to serve him. But since we are still here, there must be work left for us to do!

Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping. (Mark 13:35-36)
