INSIDE THIS ISSUE
The Vine and Branches November 2009
I hoped this issue of the Vine & Branches would be finished in time for the
tenth anniversary of Workers Together With Him in September. But as the Scottish poet Robert Burns wrote in 1785,
"The best-laid schemes o’ mice an’ men, Gang aft agley" (the best laid plans of mice and men often go awry). In the
end, I believe that "all things work together for good" (Rom. 8:28) and I am very happy to present you with this
edition of the Vine & Branches.
The Vine & Branches has evolved into more of a magazine than a newsletter now that ministry
"news" is published exclusively in the eV&B Bulletin. You can read the
eV&B online at our website, www.wtwh.org. The website has been redesigned once again as we continually search
for a format that best serves our purposes.
I appreciate the letters of congratulations I received concerning our first ten years, and I am
happy to include some of them in this edition.
I originally received the sharing by Meike Wetzling in a personal letter and I was so edified
and inspired by her sharing that I asked her if I could publish it as an article. Personally, I think it is one of
the most wonderful articles to appear in the ten years of the Vine & Branches.
Ten years ago, Meike invited me to Germany to teach the very first Weapons of Our Warfare class.
At the time, Rev. Todd Pekel was the vice-president of WTWH, resigning the post only because he and his wife Evi
relocated to Greece. Todd’s article will be a blessing to anyone who takes Christian holiness seriously (and
hopefully, a convicting word to anyone who does not).
Rev. Evan Pyle’s article on "Debt-Free Living" is a strong word from a man who has a gift for
exposing the subtle lies of false doctrine that have crept into the church. As Evan writes, "Our walk with the Lord
must be on his terms, not ours."
I hope my article on "The Second Exodus" will be as much of a blessing for you to read as it was
for me to write. Psalm 119:111 says, "Thy testimonies have I taken as an heritage for ever: for they are the
rejoicing of my heart." I know that I only perceive but a glimpse of the perfection of the Word, but that glimpse
is enough to fill my heart with expectation for the perfection to come.
God bless you. I hope you enjoy this edition.
In the service of His Majesty, the King of kings,
Tim Sullivan
