FOOTPRINTS AND IMAGES

By Jay Pearson

Today especially you can’t go anywhere without leaving a recorded image, a footprint, or both of yourself. Your image is recorded multiple times in subdivisions on security cams, or highway cams. Maybe a selfie, or you’re caught in the background on someone’s personal phone. Maybe in the background of someone’s recording of a confrontation, or in a family gathering. How do you want to leave your footprint, image, or mark in life? Someone is always watching.

Philippians 3:13-14
13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Your thoughts influence the direction of your footprints and the images of your actions. Your communications are a major factor also in how you act and leave footprints and images of yourself to be scrutinized and recalled by others.

2 Corinthians 6:3
Giving no offence in any thing, that the ministry be not blamed:

2 Corinthians 5:20
Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.

What you are doing right now is being recorded by God and/or man. Make it count.

Mark 3:2
And they watched him, whether he would heal him on the sabbath day; that they might accuse him.

You will either leave footprints from the Spirit or footprints from the flesh. It depends on how you are walking.

Romans 8:4-5
4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

Who you walk with also makes a difference in your footprints and images left for all to see.

Proverbs 27:17
Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.

Acts 4:13
Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.

Who you hang out with and communicate with influences your footprints and images left on the road you travel. Speaking by the Spirit you are communicating with God and not man. It’s a direct communication with God for prayer that is pure and unknown to the person praying. It’s praying for what the Holy Spirit wants prayed for at that moment. For our specific supplications and thanksgiving to God we can pray also with our understanding.

1 Corinthians 14:2
For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.

1 Corinthians 14:15
What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.

What better way is there to sharpen your walk than communication with God through the Holy Spirit and walking with a lamp and light unto our path? By doing so we are illuminating footprints and images of your godly walk and reflecting the Lord for all to see and follow.

Psalm 119:105
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

When you fellowship with the Lord what you do and say are the best footprint and image you can make and leave in this world.

1 Peter 3:15-16
15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
16 Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.

Ephesians 4:29
Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

Ephesians 4:32
And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

Put your Christ foot forward for footprints of perfection. Leaving images that all who would seek the Lord would want to emulate.

Your footprint and image are on display. Your eyes are a mirror and they reflect what you are looking at.

2 Corinthians 3:18
But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

Psalm 17:5
Hold up my goings in thy paths, that my footsteps slip not.

1 Corinthians 9:27
But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

We are preaching with our footprints and images made in this life. There are rewards and answers to be given for our actions before the Lord. Remember communication and fellowship with the Father and his Son are a healthy way to record your time here on earth. Share your journey with footprints and images with the Lord’s guidance.

Psalm 121:1
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.

Proverbs 27:17
Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.

May your footprints and images be a good report unto the Lord Jesus Christ and an example unto mankind.
