The Prosperity of the Lord's Servant

Presented by Rev. Tim Sullivan

Where is your heart?

The answer to that question is not shrouded in mystery. It is evident in every thing you do, in every goal you pursue. "Where your treasure is," said Jesus, "there will your heart be also" (Matt. 6:21).

"The Prosperity of the Lord's Servant" is a challenging series of teachings on the topic of riches and prosperity from a Biblical perspective. Presented in seven one-hour segments, this class exposes the "deceitfulness of riches" Jesus warned us about (Matt. 13:22), and leads us towards the "durable riches" of Christ (Proverbs 8:18).

Questions such as these will be answered with precepts from the Bible:

  • What is God's definition of prosperity?

  • What are the two kinds of treasures?

  • What does it mean to make "friends" of the "mammon of unrighteousness" (Luke 16:9)?

  • Is material wealth a sign of a spiritual blessing?

  • Do tithes and offerings belong to a bygone era?

  • What did Paul mean when he said, "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me" (Phil 4:13)?

  • How are churches and missions to be financed in this day and time?

  • What are some of the temporal and eternal benefits of tithing?

As we take a fresh look at these age-old topics, we will be moved to examine the treasures of our own hearts.
