HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR JESUS

(For Our Grandchildren)

Soon our family will celebrate a very special birthday.

In December Brooklyn will be nine years old.

In January we will celebrate Baylor’s birthday.

He will be seven!

We will also celebrate Alex's birthday in January.

She will be two!

---

Then before long, we’ll celebrate Blake’s birthday.

He will be twelve years old in February.

---

In May, we will celebrate Hoyt's birthday.

He will be eight!

---

In June Jayden will be nine!

And we will celebrate his birthday!

Also in June, we will celebrate Hunter's birthday.

He will be eight!

Each of us celebrates a birthday once a year. Each year you get one year older as you grow up. Your mom and your dad celebrate birthdays also. Even PaPa Jay and Gran Jerelyn have a birthday every year. 

We get one year older too.

Birthdays are very special days.  Your friends and family celebrate with you.  There’s one birthday that’s the most special of all.  It’s so special that all over the world people celebrate.  This special birthday is the birthday of Jesus. 

God loves the world so much that He decided to give us the best gift of all.  He performed a miracle and His Son Jesus was born.  Jesus’ birthday was so special that the angels sang.  God put a special star in the sky to lead the shepherds to the place where Jesus was born.  Wise men brought Him special gifts. 

Of course, Jesus didn’t stay a baby. He grew up just like you are growing up:

Jesus had a very important job to do.  His job was to save us from sin and make it possible for us to live with God forever.  He went ahead to be with His Heavenly Father and prepare a place for us to join Him. 

Right now He lives with His Father in Heaven and with us in our hearts.  Even though we can’t see Him, He is always here with us, especially at Christmas time when we celebrate His Birthday. 

If you believe that Jesus lives with God in Heaven; and you ask Him to save you and be your Lord, He will live in your heart.  And you will be able to live with Him forever.

 

And that’s a lot of birthdays!
