The Olkireruki Leaders' Seminar
Maranatha Church, Masai Mara, Kenya
February 7 to 9, 2013

By Samwel Naikada

Samwel NaikadaI met Reverend Tim Sullivan through the internet in May 2012, when I was attending a United Nations meeting in New York City. I was searching for Christian ministries in Maasailand and the website for Workers Together With Him caught my interest. I decided to contact Tim, and when he immediately replied our conversation lead to his invitation to me to join his mission to Matebete Village in Tanzania, in October 2012.

I travelled to Matebete with my friend Daniel Samperu, and there I met Tim face-to-face for the first time. I realized how God works for the better of those who love him. Apart from being his interpreter, I was so much blessed by his teachings on the gifts of the Holy Spirit, moreso the gift of the discerning of spirits. I learned that Satan also tells the truth and that without God's wisdom and knowledge, it is very difficult to differentiate. Tim cited an example from the book of Acts, chapter 16, in which a girl who had a spirit of prophecy followed Paul and Philip, praising them and announcing to everyone that they were the servants of God. But Paul knew by revelation that she was possessed by an evil spirit and he cast it out of her.

It was after this meeting that we invited Tim to conduct training in our church in Kenya. He promised to give us the opportunity and later we scheduled it for February 2013.

On 7 February 2013, Reverend Tim, Reverend Jay Pearson, and Kei Sullivan, arrived in Olkireruki village for the Leaders seminar at Maranatha Church. Due to a flight delay, they arrived the same day that the class was to start and immediately after lunch, Tim started his lesson.

The class on The Principles of the Doctrines of Christ according to the book of Hebrews 6:1 was attended by more than 50 trainees who included pastors, church leaders from neighboring churches, and members of the host church.

By his grace God brought us new revelation understanding on how the foundation of a Christian should be built on Jesus Christ as a rock and a cornerstone, so we can have faith and confidence as we prepare for the judgment day.

The lessons were spread over three days, and each lesson brought new revelations. One pastor confessed that he saw as if all he has been doing seemed nothing and that he just started all over again. Many testimonies were shared, including new revelations on baptism, laying of hands, repentance from dead works, faith in God, eternal judgment, and the resurrection of the dead.

On Monday the 11th, Tim and his team visited my home and met my father and other family members. From there we were invited for lunch at Daniel Samperu's home. Then on Tuesday, we went for a game drive at the Masai Mara National Reserve, and we saw so much wildlife.

On Wednesday, it was time for Tim to depart to Kitale and we escorted him to the airstrip with pastors and church ladies. We felt like we did not want them to depart due to the love and attachment that grew so strong amongst us. I must confess that at one point I didn't know whether to say goodbye or cry! But I will always thank God for giving me the privilege to serve him and for bringing to my life such blessed brothers and sisters.

On behalf of the Maranatha church, especially my senior pastor Reverend Richard Oganda, I want to thank Tim and the Workers Together With Him ministry for the training. I pray that God will always bless you and give you the grace to come back again.
